Efe Derman is a Southern California sailor building experience across the Moth, Snipe and keelboat fleets. His multifleet approach combines traditional dinghy racing, foiling development and time in larger boats, with the goal of becoming a versatile world-class sailor. His recent results show progress across those disciplines. In 2026 Efe won the Snipe Junior Nationals, finished 10th overall and first in the mixed division as skipper at the Snipe U22 Worlds, placed 15th overall and second under 22 at the Snipe Nationals, and finished ninth overall and first under 22 at the Don Q Regatta. In 2025 he finished sixth at the Snipe North Americans as crew, placed second in the Sears Cup and was first under 18 at Pensacola Foiling Week/Moth North Americans. Efe’s current development campaign is aimed at the 2027 Moth World Championship and the 2027 Snipe Western Hemisphere & Asia Championship. His stated goals are to contend for an under-20 Moth Worlds podium and win the under-22 category at the Snipe championship. The campaign depends on consistent access to competitive boats, practice equipment, tools, rigging resources and safe support on the water. Building time in several demanding fleets gives Efe a broad technical base while keeping the focus on measurable championship goals.
