Triple Threat is the Etchells team of Wiley Rogers IV, Ford McCann, and Marshall McCann, sailing USA 1465. The three sailors brought experience from international dinghy racing, collegiate sailing, Olympic-development programs, and prior Etchells competition into the 2026 campaign. At the 2026 International Etchells World Championship in San Diego, Triple Threat won the Next Generation Trophy, awarded to the best-performing team whose entire crew is under 30. The championship included 76 teams and 278 sailors from 11 countries and completed nine races on the Coronado Roads. Triple Threat finished 24th overall and second in the Corinthian division with 183 net points. Their series included a 10th in Race 4 and a ninth in Race 7, giving the team two top-ten finishes in the World Championship fleet. Wiley Rogers came through the American youth and college sailing systems before racing at the highest levels of one-design sailing. At Stanford he was a two-time ICSA All-America honorable mention skipper and an All-PCCSC skipper. Before college, Rogers won the 2016 420 Youth World Championship, earned major international 420 results, served as a Team USA training and testing partner for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and finished fifth overall and first under 20 at the 2017 470 Junior World Championship. He also brought previous Etchells World Championship experience to Triple Threat, including a fifth-place finish in 2017. Ford and Marshall McCann are twin brothers from Houston who both developed through ILCA 7 racing and the US Sailing Olympic Development Team. Ford sailed for Georgetown University, won the ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship in spring 2021, and represented the United States at multiple ILCA World Championships. Marshall attended the University of Miami, earned a degree in mechanical engineering, sailed 39 collegiate regattas as a double-handed skipper, and recorded three podium finishes at the singlehanded national championships. He later returned to the University of Miami program as an assistant coach. The 2026 Worlds result gave Triple Threat a clear international benchmark in its first season under this team name. Winning the Next Generation Trophy while finishing second Corinthian and 24th overall placed the all-under-30 crew directly against one of the deepest Etchells fleets of the year and provides a foundation for continued competition in the class.
