The Skiff Sailing Foundation welcomes inquiries from owners considering a charitable donation of a sailboat, racing boat, support boat, trailer, sails, or related sailing equipment. Donated assets can help expand access to high-performance sailing and support the Foundation's charitable mission.
How donated boats help
Donated boats and equipment can give the Foundation more ways to support high-performance sailing. We review each proposed donation for fit with our charitable mission, condition, location, logistics, and likely program value.
What we consider
Racing sailboats, dinghies and skiffs, multihulls, coach or support boats, trailers, sails, rigging, and other useful sailing equipment. We review each proposed donation individually.
How to start
Use the Boat Donation Inquiry to tell us what you are considering donating, where it is located, its general condition, and any timing considerations. We will review whether the proposed donation fits current Foundation needs and follow up about possible next steps.
Documentation and tax matters
Tax and valuation requirements depend on the donor and the property. Donors should consult their own tax adviser regarding deductibility, valuation, appraisal, and filing requirements.
