Catherine “B” Lindsay has spent her sailing career moving toward faster, more technical boats. Raised in Southern California and sailing since age six, she began in Sabots and C420s and won her first national championship at 13. In 2016, she represented the United States at the I420 Women’s World Championship in San Remo, finishing as the top U.S. boat and 22nd overall. She found her stride as a 29er skipper. At the 2017 World Championship in Long Beach, B led the first U.S. women’s team ever to qualify for Gold Fleet at a 29er Worlds. They finished as the top youth women’s team and fourth women’s team overall. The following year she was the third-ranked youth women’s skipper at the 29er Worlds in Hong Kong, won the British Mixed National title and was the top female finisher at the Red Bull Foiling Generation. B then stepped into Olympic-class sailing, campaigning the 49erFX and joining the U.S. Sailing Olympic Development Team. At Yale she raced as a skipper in both women’s and coed competition, with early college results that included A-division wins at the Sacred Heart Trophy and Tufts September Invite. Now B has shifted from driving skiffs to crewing the foiling Nacra 17 alongside Carson Crain. The USA 34 campaign is working toward a place on the U.S. team for Los Angeles 2028, where Olympic sailing will take place on home waters off Southern California. The Nacra rewards precise communication and complete trust between helm and crew—qualities B has developed from both sides of the boat. She and Carson raced together at the 2026 Nacra 17 World Championship in France as they continue building their partnership for the road to LA.
