Moving on up!

January 23rd 2007 We got 13th! The air was very light and shifty. We saw anything from 0 to 5 knots and only got one race off. Our start was right in the middle of the line and we nailed it. Our first reaction was to tack out of the pinch fest so we did. We ended up going out to the right of the course with Morgan Larsen and Spanish team who was tenth in the world last year. Charlie and i held on to 11th place for most of the race until two boats split from the fleet and ended up getting us at the finish. Today was a good day and we put a bunch of points on all the other American teams and now we sit in the fourth spot for the US Sailing Team. Hopefully tomorrow goes as well as today did.

Rolex Miami OCR

January 22nd 2007 Our first day racing our new boat in an ISAF Grade 1 event with over 25 boats. Charlie and I woke up early to fresh breeze blowing out of the South. The fleet was split into two groups and we were the first group to hit the choppy bay. Our first race of the day was an immediate wake up call who the competition was, and the differnce in boat speed with the top teams. Race 1: 18th Race 2: 20th Race 3: 18th we finished all the races and the boat held together. We came a long way toady and it was a great day. 18 knot day, sunny and anywhere from 70 to 85 degreese. Overall we sit in 34th the fifth american team. We are happy
