With a history and development of over 150 years, the Australian 18 Footer has defined skiff sailing. It remains one of the most exciting classes in the world with fleets and competition worldwide. In 2003, the 18's came to San Francisco for what has become an annual stop on the world circuit. Our organisation has been involved with the 18's since this return to the states.
With a 33' tall big rig, and unmatched downwind speed, the 18's represent the ultimate in performance. They are not to be afraid of however. We have found the 18 to be an excellent training platform on which two experienced crew can sail with a novice third person in most conditions. Over 80 people of all skill levels have sailed on our 18's here in the states. With nine boats now on our shores, we are committed to helping this class succeed.
